New Game Plan

Last night, Dad called to tell us that the orthopaedist decided that the pin(s) in her hip was not going to be the best option.  So the new game plan is to do a partial hip replacement. A partial hip replacement, also called hip hemiarthroplasty, is a surgical procedure where only the femoral head (the ball) of the damaged hip joint is replaced. The acetabulum (the socket) is not replaced.  This surgery is supposed to take place Friday at 3:30pm, unless she gets bumped due to any emergencies that arise.

So this morning, Monic, Carrie (our dear friend) and I (Christine) arrived at the farm.  We met up with Dad and took some time to print off some more of your comments and encouraging words/scripture for Mom to read before we headed to the hospital.  Mom is in good spirits but is a little anxious for the surgery to begin and how she will feel when she wakes up.

Unfortunately, it's almost 6:00pm and she is still not in surgery but we will keep you posted.  Oh, if you want to keep right on top of all the updates on Mom just type your email address under the FOLLOW BY EMAIL box on the right of this blog page and click submit. :)
