I don't think I should even use the word "routine" when describing a procedure that has people going inside you with a scope where noone wants anyone to go! :)
But this past Wednesday, just over a year after Kevin's surgery to remove part of his colon and small bowel due to Crohn's, he went in for a colonoscopy to see how things look in comparison to last year.
In general, all is well. They did see a little inflammation where the colon and small bowel were reattached but we were told he could remedy that with some more fiber in his diet. They did not find anymore fistulas but did find two very small polyps which they biopsied. We will know the results of that in about five days. If the results say the cells are pre-cancerous, then Kevin will have to have another colonoscopy in five years. If not, then he won't have to have another one for TEN years! This is great news considering we thought colonoscopies might be a yearly event for Kevin due to his condition.
So our prayers have been answered once again!
Thanks for all your love and support!
:) The Salls
