Port Is In!!

Just a couple of Mom's many visitors.  :)
Today began with some x-rays for Mom of her right hip.  They asked her to move it into different positions and some she could do easilywhile others were painful but overall it went very smoothly.

Yesterday we were told that she may not receive her port/cath until, perhaps, she was discharged but Dr. Aboo came through for us once again and had Mom on the schedule for this morning already.  So shortly after her x-rays she went in for the installation of her port/cath.  This device will make it so much easier for Mom to receive her chemo as well as have any of the blood draws done.  The physician who performed the procedure used a newer technique that did not involve staples but rather a form of plastic surgery to cover the location of the device with skin.

Dad was with her during the early morning while the rest of us showed up later to watch the movie, Blind Side with Mom.

Side note to our Canadian friends and family:  Since the hospital has a Tim Hortons in the lower level, we have been purchasing many ‘Roll Up the Rim’ coffees since we have been there without many wins.  However, Kevin and Kelly show up and of the three coffee/hot cocoas they purchased…ALL OF THEM WERE WINNERS!!  (Mo and I can’t figure out how that’s possible. J)

Continuing to pray for a miracle,

Us
