When they took the drainage tube out this morning, it drain a bit as expected. However, about a half an hour later it began draining quite heavily again and continued to do so for about two hours. They did attempt to contain it in some sort of bag so that Mom didn't have to keep getting her bedding changed. It did eventually subside and Mom began feeling quite a bit better. She was up and walking around today. In fact, she was feeling so much better that when Dad got to the hospital tonight she had texted him to bring her a greasy cheeseburger with the WORKS! She was so eager for it that she was standing in the hallway waiting for Dad when he arrived, enormous burger in hand! (We're told that she ate over half of it. Maybe more? :)
Tonight she is hoping to go with little or no meds and see how she feels. The really great news is that if things keep going this well the doctor says she may be able to go home on Saturday. (We're kind of holding our breath for that one. I don't think any of us will really believe it until we get the call from Dad that she's at home in her own bed. - At least, I am a bit of a "Doubting Thomas" especially after all that Mom has had to go through these past - almost - two weeks.)
