Boy, did I get transported into the future yesterday evening. It was the most bizarre feeling when we brought Noah to his first official machine pitch baseball game, EVER. It was held at the Quincy park complex off 144th and Quincy where there are four fields, beautifully landscaped and carefully cared for, clustered together. There were 100s of people there, each one of there to cheer on their special someone. However, most of the children there were boys about sixth grade and older. It was as if God was giving me this unique glimpse of what our lives will be like in just a few short years. It was such a sereel (?) feeling. My chest filled with love and pride for my sons who would one day be at this stage in their lives and I couldn't wait to be there yelling my encouragement and pride!
Oh, Noah did fantastic, by the way. He hit the ball all three times at bat and his second time it was the biggest hit of anyone the entire game. He was fully extended and it soared OVER the outfielders. "Whoa!" was all you could here around the field from both his teammates and the opposition! Way to go, Noah!! (The picture of him hitting is of his first time at bat.) Each time at bat you could just see his posture change as his confidence grew. What an amazing thing to witness, as a parent!
