Hijacking Kevin

After 13 1/2 years, Kevin and I are going to be heading out for a short siesta with just the two of us this weekend for no reason other than to be with each other and become rejuvenated for life in general.  Each time we've gone away in the past it has always involved work, marriage encounter or some family event but no so this time.  I, Christine, finaggled and schemed with the school board to get Kevin's two personal days to be on this coming Monday and Tuesday without him knowing.  Today, I finally let the cat out of the bag.  For those of you that know Kevin, you know he isn't a huge fan of surprises because he has his lists to complete and a vacation messes with his time frame for checking off his lists.  His face expressed his shock and dumbfoundedness as he looked at me with an "Are you serious?" expression.  From that point on I could see his wheels kick into overdrive as he contemplated all he HAD to do before we leave.

Some of you may be wondering where we are going... I found a way to use our airline credit from this summer when our niece and nephew were born unexpectedly, on the cheapest flights for this weekend.  It turns out we are heading to Tampa Bay, FL on Saturday and will be home on Tuesday.  "Bring on the palm trees", I say.  I know Kev will come around and we'll have a blast- at least he assures me he will.  Look for some pics on here when we return.

So adios dear family and friends!  I'll think of you as I gaze at the Gulf of Mexico (maybe)  :)
