In the Blink of An Eye

This past weekend the lives of our sister and brother-in-law and the rest of us changed in the blink of an eye.  It has been a roller coaster or rather a washing machine of emotions for us. We seem to be getting agitated back and forth with no control.

However, we cling to God's soveriegnty and His all-knowing - "ness". For once again, His plans we're not ours.

This is a bit of the situation:
Amanda is Kevin's sister and Tim is her husband. They were expecting twin babies due on August 4, 2011 and they had been doing great up until almost 33 weeks when she went into pre-term labor. They stopped it at Zeeland hospital and both babies heartbeats still looked strong. Unfortunately, the doctor didn't realize the baby girl had stopped growing until her 34 week appointment when Amanda went in (this past thursday) and they couldn't find the baby boy's heartbeat. Since then, Amanda and Tim's lives as have been in complete turmoil. They decided to induce delivery of the babies at Spectrum on Friday. She progressed quickly and by 11pm was able to begin pushing. I, Christine, Kristy (my sister-in-law) and Mom were able to stay in the delivery room to encourage Amanda and Tim.  Kevin, Doug (Kristy's husband) and Dad prayed from the waiting room lounge.  At 11:43pm on July 15, 2011, Addison Joy was born weighing 3lbs and 16" long, doing great breathing room air. Then our prayers became VERY fervent. We needed the baby boy to turn head down because he was sideways in Amanda's womb. He didn't. So after A LOT of difficultly and struggle, baby Landon John was stillborn at 12:06am on July 16,2011.

Never in our lives have we smiled and cried so much! We were able to hold both babies and continue to pray prayers of gratitude but also of sorrow. Our hearts continue to ache for Tim and Amanda and for Addison and the rest of us who will never get hear Landon laugh or cry but we are trusting Jesus to hold Landon close and the rest of us even closer as we struggle.
Here at a couple of pictures of whom Auntie Chris always called Punkin and Precious:
