Kevin with Kyle and Melissa and family
And their all looking!!
(Kyle and Melissa, you may have to crop Kevin out and make this a family photo!)
However shortly after they left, Kevin began to have issues with his catheter leaking just before 3pm and it was also accompanied by some pretty strong discomfort (cramping and pain). So, so much for walking, a replacement catheter was on the docket and since it was a shift change he couldn't get it taken care of until around 4-4:30pm. While I'm told that process is very painful, he was Superman and flew right through it. It helped that we had another fantastic nurse who knew exactly what she was doing. We have been so blessed with the care we've received here at Blodgett.
Later on that evening we enjoyed the company of Kevin's cousin, Kyle and his wife Melissa, their three little ones as well as my sister, Monic and her husband, Justin and our nephew, Christian (who is the one I saw born in Canada just six days before Tehya made her entrance into the world.) Kevin told me later he had to keep drinking his water to keep from laughing for fear of the pain in his abdomen but he was full of smiles and we both thoroughly enjoyed their company, encouragement and love. (If I reflect much longer, I'll probably cry again. I'm finding I am really overwhelmed by everyone's thoughfulness and love.)
After our company had headed out, Kevin decided he needed to tackle another one of those walks. Not only did he get up and walk, he walked the entire loop around the floor which we are told is quite the task considering it is 300 FEET in length. For a man who has just undergone a serious operation, 300 feet is almost 1/2 a marathon. Kevin joked that if he went any slower he would have been going backward! (Once again, always the jokester! Boy, do I love this man.)
With a smile of gratitude,
Chris (& Kevin)
Our nephew Christian grinning us a big 'Good-bye' smile. :)
