Success!!

We arrived at Holland Hospital at 7:15am where we met with Dr. Vandermeer and the anesthesiologist who took one look at Gideon's tonsils and said "And that's why we're here!" By 8:10am they had wheeled Gideon off to surgery. Kevin and I sat in the waiting room with a beeper for 35mins and were pleased to run into a good friend of ours, Barb Meiste to whom we were speaking when Dr. Vandermeer appeared already to give us the post op update. "It was a boring surgery." To which we said, "GREAT!" Dr. Vandermeer couldn't have been more pleased with how it went and gave us a run down on the medications he was prescribing. After having our questions answered, we headed to the recovery room to wait for our little man to arrive. He was wheeled back in looking pink and so much better than even after the adenoidectomy. He ate a popsicle, took some oral pain medicine with some water and drank some apple juice. He even talked quite a bit. I was shocked by God's answer to our prayers! How silly is that, I asked Him for great things and then when He supplied them, I was stunned!

After watching a few cartoons, he feel asleep and that is how he stayed until Kevin drove up to our front door. Which included sleeping through the check out process and his Daddy carrying him to the van and buckling him in. AMAZING!

We're home now and he's eaten pudding and yogurt and is drinking like a champ. We pray (and ask you to pray) that he continues this wonderful progress!

Thanks for all your prayers already!
God is SO good!

Love
Christine & Kevin
