Trick or Treat Night!
It's that time of year again...crazy outfits, tons of energy and excessive amounts of sugar!! The one great thing for us is at this point we have a "bin" of costumes and the boys just "dig" through and find one they like and that fits! (Except for Noah this year, he was too big and needed a new one. However, he already asked to use it again next year, to which we said an enthusiastic, "Sure!") The kids got more candy this year then ever! We went to Ridgepoint Church's Trunk or Treat and proceeded to load up on candy from approximately 70+ cars, trucks and vans. What a great way to get the community to your church. There were hundreds, if not more than 1000 people milling about collecting candy and warming up in the church watching a mime and grabbing some pizza.
From there we headed to see Great Grandma Sall. Little did we know but RestHaven, on 40th Street in Holland, supplies the residents with candy and you could go from room to room collecting even more sweets. Grandma was thrilled to see us and she kept trying to shoot candy into Kevin's pocket because she didn't want him to be left out. It was really unbelievable for our boys, and the residents loved all the kids' outfits. We saw more smiles in that one 30 minute stop there than we have EVER seen in any residential care facility! What fun it was for everyone! Highly recommend going there next year. You get to stay warm, get candy and bring a lot of joy to many sad individuals! The visit was our purpose and SURPRISE, it became so much more! Greetings and love to all and Happy November! :)
